I don’t really know what I expected “settling in” to be like, once we arrived in New Jersey. I think I was worried about homesickness, missing my parents and friends, learning my way around a new town… and while all of those are valid concerns, life has been good in the (nearly) two months since [...]

Ready.
So much for writing more often. Time to stretch the writing muscles and try again!
Quite a bit has happened since the last time I’ve been here at the ol’ blog….

Summertime and the livin’ is easy
Jet started swim lessons on Monday…
Here’s Daddy helping him get used to the water:
Made some new friends:
Blowing bubbles:
Knight’s sister and family visited us over the weekend. Knight and her husband went to the video store to look for an additional guitar to play Guitar Hero, and her husband bought us Rock Band instead. Consequently, I’ve [...]

You know you’re a wuss when..
… your son “cooks” you a treat and even pretending to eat the plastic cookie makes you a little nauseated.
I know I really shouldn’t complain. Some women have had it far worse than I do. (Hi, Mom! Love you!) I mean, I haven’t even had any real “morning sickness” – just [...]

It’s a miracle
The house is clean! Well, most of it, anyway. The parts that people see. (And we ALL know that those are the only parts that really count, don’t we?) Considering that I’ve been actively sitting on my duff all week, this is a bit of a major accomplishment. Sometimes I just need a motivating factor, [...]

How do you celebrate such good weather?
Here’s how we did it:

What happens when…
….you hand your three-year-old son the camera? (We’ve done this once before, but perhaps it bears repeating.) Just like anyone, I suppose, he takes pictures of things that are the most important to him.
Things like Trucks
and The Kitchen, with a hearty helping of Fingers
and last, but certainly not least, Toes (aren’t they cute!?!)
1.5 weeks of teaching [...]

More Abbott and Costello
Alternatively titled “Reason number 3,927 why my son will need extensive therapy”.
Jet and I cook together quite often. Tonight, we made cinnamon toast for a snack.
Jet: I wanna put the cimma- cinn- cimmammammon on it.
Me: *snicker* You wanna put the what on it?
Jet: I wanna put the cinnannannamon on it.
Me: *snort* The what on it?
Jet: The [...]
